Comfy Summer looks
Updated: Jul 6, 2020
Lounge wear, athleisure, comfy cozy chic, 90s? Yes, the 90s trends have been back for a while, so many of the looks you will see this summer embrace a touch of 90's crazy, sexy, cool vibes. A lot of the spring trends I listed in my spring into spring post basically have carried over to summer, but with a casual, laid back vibe. Think bralette tops under a cardigan, in lieu of a blazer. Which, if you're like me and working from home, or you're just craving some laid back looks, you'll love the loungy-ness of this summer. Here is a breakdown of some of the summer trends you can for sure feel comfy chic in.
Making comfortable look stylish
Sweat shorts, linen shorts, high waist shorts - all are perfect for sitting on the couch, working from home, or running to the store. Pair with a crop top, and you're ready for the pool. Style with some chucks and you have a complete look.
These Urban Outfitters linen blend pull-on shorts have the comfort and ease you want when having to run to the grocery store, yet still stylish and put together enough for a socially distant picnic. The high rise and smocked waist makes them easy to pair with a crop top, bralette top and cropped knit cardigan, another look trending this season.

Throw on some classic Converse All Stars and you have a comfy casual, street ready look! I must say, All stars go with practically anything, including a dress. That is definitely a look you want to rock this summer. A simple, street friendly, yet feminine ensemble - converse or other sneaks with a floral babydoll dress is a summer trend anyone can easily pull off, no matter your shape or size. Try the look for yourself! If you ask me, this look never goes out
If you're feeling an even more laze, relaxed look and comfort is what you're going for, check out these comfy cool pieces. Free people, Lucky I love you set. 2-piece lounge wear sets are another summer trend you will for sure get into during this stay-at-home season. High waist crushed velvet shorts you can lounge all day in
The great thing about what I like to call casual comfy chic, is that you can mix n match with ease. You look and feel great. A wonderful example of this versatility are the Ralph Lauren beachy linen lounge trousers. Pair them with a bandeau top and you are summer chic and ready for the beach or pool. (virtual beach anyone?) Dress it up and finish off the look with a cropped cardigan like this Eileen Fisher silk cropped cardigan pictured below.
What about shoes you ask? Well this wonderful posher has the perfect shoes to finish off this fit. These vintage pastel lavender leather sandals polish off the outfit fantastically. Pastels is definitely a summer trend I can get behind.
Make sure to visit this lovely posher who I came across recently on poshmark. Her closet is full of dazzling summer trend looks, along with clear, beautiful, well lit cover shots, which makes shopping a breeze. Check her out and shop all these awesome beachy looks - @spookygoddess
Yes, a retro look that is way on trend right now - it's literally everywhere! - is tye die. Personally, I'm not a huge tie dye fan. But one look I can pull off is adding a little color and fun to my face masks! The masked look is not going anywhere anytime soon, so might as well use the face mask as an accessory! Check out some of these awesome masks:
