Aloha spirit

Updated: Jan 26, 2020

Hawaii has got to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. White sand beaches, turquoise waters, endless rainbows, and of course tropical drinks! :)

For this trip, we decided to go with Airbnb. Our friend did a great job finding an awesome condo at the Waikiki Banyan with beautiful views of both ocean and mountains. (cue Jurassic park music)

Ha!

From our room, Waikiki Banyan. I mean look at that view

We started our adventure correct with plenty of drinks and a walk to the Rainbow drive-in where we got yummy plates of classic Hawaiian food. I got the katsu chicken, rice, and my fave- macaroni salad.

Rainbow drive-in. The place to get typical Hawaiian lunch plates

Overall it was good, I do enjoy a yummy macaroni salad. I would have added a bit more salt and pepper. But good overall dish. Its a cool place to check out. You just walk up to the window to order, then grab a seat outside or drive right up.

That night we headed over to the Moana Surfrider Westin to have a much needed tropical drink. Nice ambiance, good drinks, and lovely hula music.

Cabana Coconut. So yum!!

We got a bunch of suggestions on places to go hang out in Waikiki. We checked out the Maui brewery - good food and beer, lively atmosphere; Kelley O'Neil's - nice little pub with live music; and ended our night at Cheeseburger in paradise. Easy place to get some grubs, drinks and view of the street. Great people watching. Overall, a great first night.

The beach at Waikiki was a only a few blocks from our place. Perfect! The time we traveled was mid October so not too overrun with tourists. Plenty of beach space. The nice thing about the beach at Waikiki is there is a wall breaker, making an easy and calm swimming space. Lifeguards on duty. Make sure to bring your own umbrella. Not much shade. We did have some great cloud cover and even a down pour for about 10 minutes. But awesome beach time.

Rompin' around Waikiki

So, on to the posh fits! yassss. We had some great romp time. I brought three different rompers, perfect for running around, shopping, and drinking! They also make great beach cover ups.

This gray romper by Topshop is simple yet sexy without showing too much skin. Front flap detail provides coverage and open back shows just enough. Easy to pull on off which is important for potty breaks

This lovely romper was a great find at my local thrift store. Now available and for sale in my posh closet.

From day to night....

This next romper is one of my faves. I purchased it wholesale to sell in my posh boutique. I obviously kept one for myself. Adorable, sexy, chic. I've gotten tons of compliments on this one. Featuring a criss cross tie back, crochet waist, and front flaps, it makes the perfect tropical vacation outfit. I paired it with some excellent statement earrings I bought at some shop in Kailua years ago. Cute little feather tassels make them perfect for a night out in Waikiki. Notice the color street nails? Yasss. Tropical design with little palm trees and flamingos. Can't get any better than that. Did I mention they lasted the entire trip?? No chipping or pealing even after swimming, hand washing and all. Love color street.

Completed this fit with some posh boutique thong sandals with cute little white flowers on the straps.

That night we headed for a nice dinner at the Top of Waikiki revolving restaurant. This place is cool to check out. It features a revolving (very slowly) restaurant at the very top, with great views of the city. The bar staff are super nice, the drinks are yummy, and the views awesome. We got a few appetizers to share and plenty of drinks. Make sure you order a chi chi. A def must in Hawaii. Pineapple juice, vodka, and coconut cream, it's not too sweet, refreshing, and oh so yum.

Last romper of the trip is this very simple, comfy romper I bought on poshmark, via @littlefire33. This romp is from xhilaration. Its so comfy, you could sleep in it or use it as a cover up. On this beautiful chill morning we strolled over to the farmer's market on the corner.

We got some fresh papaya for the beach and I got a cute little sunset painting print. Perfect morning leisure activity.

Last outfit I wanted to feature is also very simple (seeing a trend?). The bodysuit is from A'Gaci. A sage color lace-up bodysuit, I purchased from poshmark. It's a great shade of olive and very comfy. I paired it with these also very comfy and cute shorts from Band of Gypsies, also a great posh purchase from @slclark1344. She has great style. These shorts have an elastic waist and looked great with this bodysuit. Perfect for an evening stroll through Waikiki. Shopping and drinks, what a great day. And look at that view!

I also have to showcase my dear friend Lisa, who sported some awesome fits as well. (also my photographer for the trip) :)

This adorable cold shoulder Zara dress is complete with side pockets and oh so cute sleeve ties.

Check her out in this lovely Maeve Anthropologie top with free people shorts

strolling by the beach, Diamond head in the back

Now this trip wouldn't be complete without a mumu and lei. :)

The mumu was a great goodwill find! Lisa has been my thrift mentor. She taught me everything I know about thrifting, popular brands, and the bins. Thanks Lisa!

A lovely trip full of sunshine, sand, chi chi's, delicious food, and good times with good friends. Sadly, we missed a few things like exploring Diamond Head and enjoying some shave ice. Guess that means we have to go back!

Now enjoy some of the wonderful views...

one last chi chi on our last day! If you're staying near the Banyan condos, go across the street to the Mac 24/7 restaurant

OMG the Hawaiian stuffed french toast with Guava jam and coconut syrup, I can't even. Make sure to take home some coconut syrup!

Where to next?? Somewhere tropical, beachy and hot! Take a guess where I'm heading to next. And you know I'll be taking some of my posh looks with me. Follow me on instagram for more poshtastic fun and ongoing trip pics @flyartista
